I’m a film producer and documentary filmmaker based in Istanbul and Cyprus. In my documentaries, I tend to seek an insider perspective so that my audience can meet with unexpectedly familiar people at an intimate level.
I’ve directed and co-produced my short documentaries from Turkey and Cyprus for The Guardian, Al Jazeera, TRT and ARTE. I produced local shoots of major outlets including National Geographic TV and Conde Nast.
I became a Sundance Documentary Fund and Tribeca Film Institute alum as a producer with Mr Gay Syria (2017) by Ayşe Toprak.
In 2018 I founded Purple Pigeon Productions as an independent creative producer in order to develop and produce films from woman and LGBTI filmmakers.
Currently producing for directors Sefa Öztürk, Ruzgar Buşki and Ayşe Toprak on their feature projects.
I have 15 years’ experience in the audiovisual industry. My background is in international journalism, photography and political science.
I speak Turkish, English, French and Spanish.
